The hospital closely focuses on the advantageous disciplinary groups, adjusts and optimizes the layout of scientific research platforms, continuously improves the hospital's ability to support the development of scientific and technological innovation, promotes the construction of high-level scientific research platforms, and creates a large number of advanced scientific research and innovation platforms. It has been approved as the Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Functional Brain Diseases by the National Health Commission, the Innovative Intellectual Base of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Colleges and Universities (111 Program), the Joint Laboratory for International Cooperation in Reproduction and Development by the Ministry of Education (Direction of Maternal-Fetal Medicine), the Chongqing Center for Translational Medicine (a total of two in Chongqing), the Key Laboratory of Metabolic Vascular Diseases in Sichuan and Chongqing, and the Key Laboratory of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, with four key laboratories (Prevention and Treatment of Major Blinding Eye Diseases, Molecular Tumor and Epigenetics, Major Neuropsychiatric Disease Room, Maternal-Fetal Medicine), 2 Key Laboratories of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission (Neurology, Translational Medicine of Major Metabolic Diseases), 4 Key Laboratories of Chongqing Municipal Medicine (Neurology, General Surgery, Infectious Diseases and Parasitology, Regeneration of Locomotor System and Translational Medicine), 7 Clinical Medical Research Centers of Chongqing Municipality, 1 Science and Technology Base of Chongqing Municipality, and 1 Collaborative Innovation Center of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission.

The total area of the hospital's scientific research platform is about 17,000 square meters, and 140 million yuan has been invested in scientific research instruments and equipment. It has a series of highly sophisticated experimental equipments, such as two-photon fluorescence micro-imaging system, micro-droplet digital PCR system, laser confocal microscope, flow cytometer, panoramic tissue cell 3D scanning and analysis system, in vivo sorting flow cytometer, LC-MS liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry coupled with a series of other equipment, such as brain slice membrane clamp system, mass spectrometry analysis system, high-content cellular imaging system, and in vivo imaging system. Highly sophisticated experimental equipment provides strong scientific and technological support for the cultivation of high-end scientific and technological talents and postgraduate students in the hospital, and is an incubator for high-level medical scientific and technological achievements, playing an important role in promoting the mutual transformation between high-quality scientific research output and clinical practice.

Guided by the strategy of Healthy China and the National Medium and Long-term Science and Technology Development Plan, and led by the construction of the National Medical Center and the National Regional Medical Center, the hospital has set up the Innovation Research Institute of Chongqing Medical University. In order to further strengthen the connotation construction of the Institute of Innovation, the hospital has completed the construction of the biospecimen bank and successfully obtained the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the record of human genetic resources conservation, which provides standardized sample processing and conservation services for the scientific and technological workers of the whole hospital. Fully utilizing its own platform of drug clinical trial institutions, the hospital actively carries out phase I-IV drug (device) clinical trials, bioequivalence trials, and investigator-initiated clinical studies (IIT), encourages leading or participating in international and domestic multi-center clinical trials, and carries out clinical studies in a legal, compliant, standardized and orderly manner, as well as raises scientific research funds through multiple channels. Establishment of the Big Data and Intelligent Medical Research Center to build a bridge for interoperability between clinical data and medical research. Set up a technology transfer incubation support platform (Medical + XCollaborative Innovation Center) to promote the transformation of cutting-edge technologies and medical research results into clinical applications.
